A consent decree was entered into in 1972 by the named companies, the Society of the Plastics Industry and ASTM with the FTC which prohibited the use of this type of misleading description.
In addition, a disclaimer was required to be used in connection with any small scale flammability tests such as noted here. “This flammability rating is not intended to reflect hazards by this or any other material under actual fire conditions.”
